ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Former St. Louis Ram Isaac Bruce spoke to KMOX’s Chris Hrabe the day after news broke that the team would be leaving town, headed for L.A.
“My heart, initially, goes out to the St. Louis Rams…city, not just the fans. St. Louis is such a great city. I always looked at it as a great family town – a great place to raise a family.”
Bruce told KMOX St. Louis is a town with very passionate sports fans who always supported the team.
“You just sit back and reflect on all of the great moments that you had in St. Louis and the great fans. The way they showed up for us time and time again. The way they supported our foundation, everything that we ever endeavored to do in the community. The fans were there. I’m at a loss for words,” Bruce said.
Bruce also had a message for St. Louis fans: “I just want to say ‘thank you.’ What more can you say than, ‘thank you, thanks for being there,'” he said.
A spokesperson for Bruce’s charitable organization, The Isaac Bruce Foundation, told KMOX in an email early Wednesday morning that they have every intention of staying in St Louis, saying “Yes, we are absolutely committed to STL.”
They tell KMOX it will be harder since most of their supporters are Rams Fans.
“We’re hopeful people will continue to support us so we can keep doing good things here,” the statement concludes.
